Photo a Day for Friday.

I was wondering what to post for today and had decided on my favourite photo of my favourite pet, Chi, my cat - but! There is always a 'but!'

Today I had a reunion lunch with my grade 7 school teacher after 38 years, Mr David Ross. This was made possible by an old school friend I have been back in touch with for the last twelve months. Stan was interested in tracking down Mr Ross for an upcoming Nollamara Primary School reunion and managed to do so and arranged to have lunch with David today.

What we thought would be a couple of hours over lunch extended out to four and a bit hours. David regaled us with school tales and the trouble he and another teacher got into at school for continually pushing the expected boundaries of teaching by making their students extend themselves. David also got into trouble for allowing girls to play basket ball back in1973!

So here is a photo of my favourite primary school teacher, here is a photo him and my old friend Stan, taken by me and one of Mr Ross and me taken by Stan and also my year 7 school class photo.

Hey Terri,

Always a but – LOL
Well done for finding time on this busy day to be able to post this blog...I was sure you were going with Chi as the favourite!

But a worthy candidate is Mr Ross.

David was a real educator rather than a teacher...And the fact that after 38 years he could still easily remember so much about the school, the class and us individually shows how passionate he was about his chosen profession...Thanks for travelling from Northam to be there
...And it WAS amazing how the conversation flowed so easily, that before we knew it, we had been there for over 4½hrs :)

My goodness, he must have been a young teacher! Its funny how teachers always seemed really old at school. Interesting that he got into trouble for allowing girls to play basketball. I can remember playing basketball at Tuart Hill SHS in 1971/72. I liked it much better than netball, though I still don't like playing team sports. Lovely photos today.

I would have been able to tell who was you in the group photo even without your saying. You're as cute now as you were then!
